HRVATSKA UDRUGA ŠKOLSKIH KNJIŽNIČARA (HUSK)

The Croatian Association of the School Librarians (CASL) was founded on the initiative of the Council at the conference held on April 24th 2002 in Therapia Hotel in Crikvenica, Croatia.

The goal of the association is promoting the school librarianship, enabling faster and quality flow of information in the area of school librarianship and education, as well as promoting the professional status of the school librarians.

The activities are defined by the Statute, the programme and plan of the work (plans are devised annually and for period of four years).

CASL is organized through branches in each of the Croatian counties. It is possible to become a member of the CASL for eveyone directly involved in the school librarianship.

The members rule the Association through the representatives in the Conference and the Board. The Board counts nine members, including two assistant chairmen and the chairman. The first chairman of the Association was Jasminka Lovrinčević ; the assistant chairmen were Milan Josić and Dinka Kovačević. Since 2006 the chairman has been Sanja Galic and the assistant chairmen Milan Josić and Boris Popinjač. The headquarters of the CASL is the High School of Architecture and Geodesy in Osijek.

Some members of the CASL are the members of the IASL as well, and the CASL has had the membership in IASL since October 2006.
